Weddings!

Love weddings! Last weekend Shelby and I went to a wedding and then again last night we went to another one. Shelby and I love weddings- it is something we do together. There is just something about two people starting their lives out together that is so much fun!!! I can't lie and say I am not looking for super cool things for when my kids get married- The reception last night was catered by Olive Garden!!! Yum! I was in heaven. I have never had one of those parfaits that they sell at Olive Garden- and WOW was it delicious. Mine was lemon. At both receptions they had cupcakes instead of wedding cake. The wedding that the pictures are included was Patrick, a guy from work. It was outdoors and we had a blast watching the neighbor bassett hound running around begging for food. It was in a small community center in Georgia. The only stress I had was that they threw down felt flower petals for the bride to walk down- ALOT of them and then the wind took them away. All I could think about was that these petals were going to be around forever in everyone's yards. Patrick told me he felt the same way and had gone back the day after and picked them up. What a guy!!! Favorite thing about Patrick's wedding? They had a candy table- a big one!!! I have never really ate covered almonds- can I just say MMMMMM.

Favorite thing about the wedding last night- beautiful wedding dress- they had gone to the Orlando temple and she looked so beautiful. The kids Shelby and I stole made it pretty sweet also!

Welcome to the world of driving Dylan Forsyth!!!

Yes, Dylan has became a driver on the road. After a 4 hour drug and alcohol online course and test and then a road sign and a road rules test he is ready to hit the road. The day we went to get his Learners it was at the end of the day- so we had an empty building basically. This let Dylan and I have a lot of fun. He was bragging about passing the eye test because he knows how blind his mother is. Then when he was taking his picture he was trying to make a silly face without it looking too silly. His hair is so long right now I was teasing him about looking like Justin Beeber. When it came time to sign his name for his license I gave him a really hard time and he had to try signing it twice. When it was printed out it was crooked. We had a good laugh about that. So- now comes the fun part right? Driving??? It is amazing to think that all of my children are on the road. Dylan seems to be the best so far for driving the least- but he also seems to have a little bit of a lead foot. I will have a year to break him of that. Life is good- someone to drive me around for a while. : >

So Heidi had the CUTEST post of Lindsey and her first day of school. I was super jealous of the cuteness of it all- so I thought to myself- what is cuter than a kindergartner on the first day of school? A young man on his first day of HIGH SCHOOL! Yes, can you believe it? My baby started high school and seminary three weeks ago. I think the hardest part of school is getting Dylan up and going every morning. I kiss, I cry, I sing, I yell, I threaten and finally he rolls out of bed. Once in the car he quickly falls back asleep for another 20 minutes until we roll into seminary. Once there he tries REALLY hard to stay awake for his mom but I can see the agony in his eyes. How did I end up with a non morning person. I have figured out the best way to keep him awake is a Mountain Dew Voltage. Yes- in seminary of all places. I keep thinking he will adjust and maybe it will come tomorrow, next week??? It's kind of crazy that the only kid in class that is sleeping is the teacher's kid???

Youth Conference was great this year. Let me tell you what my three favorite things were:

1. Being there with Dylan. It was crazy to see him so grown up and going to Youth Conference. Biggest highlight of it all was when he bore his testimony. Totally surprised when he stood up and so proud to hear him share his testimony.

2. Hanging out with my friends. Shelby always worries because she thinks I have no friends. When I get to go to church things like this I have so much fun with my church friends. We just giggle and laugh and enjoy each other! Super fun to be there with my seminary kids also. Wow! They are tooooo much fun!

3. Dancing- Call me crazy but I love loud music and I love dancing!!! It seems like now all they do is bounce up and down and I so can do that for about 10 minutes before I have to run to the bathroom! I really love trying to act like I know what I am doing during all the line dances. I am the queen of the Macarena but not so much of the Electric Slide. : >

I have decided to try to do better about this blogging stuff.

This is one of my back from Utah goals. Goal 1: Blog. Goal 2: Be like my little sister Heidi and read the Book of Mormon more. Goal 3: Write letters to my nieces.

Here is my favorite picture from Utah so far. This was my Dad and I when I got off the plane. It was such an emotional time for me- to be there with my Mom and Dad and be a small part of their lives and what they are going through. I have always had the knowledge that my mom and dad loved me unconditionally. They have taught me how to love others even when it is not always easy. They amaze me at the love they have for each other. Favorite memories? Dad waiting on Mom to hold her hand whenever they walk into a store, the house, church- anywhere. I love that Dad. Never let her go. I won't mention my mother's hands but they are my favorite thing about her. I will always love holding those hands.

First trip of the Summer!

One great thing about Summer is having Fridays off. Even though I work 10 hour days during the week- having Fridays off makes for a great weekend. This weekend we took a quick trip to Lake Kerr. We had never been there before so we weren't sure what we would find. It was great! The resort we were in was mainly campers but they had a bunch of cabins and that is where we ended up- Number 7! It was a two bedroom so Dylan ended up on the couch- I told him if he would just tell Shelby he would share the bed with her- she would take the couch- but he was a good sport and took it. When we got there we went out to dinner at the local fish/steak house. They were closing early for their graduation. Small towns- got to love them! The picture I am adding at dinner are the looks that Matt and Dylan give Shelby. They have tons of them- I could make a book. After dinner we went swimming, sat in the hot tub, played tennis, and watched tv. The next day was pretty much a repeat except we added in ping pong. It was AWESOME to get away. We all needed it- No phone service- but free Wii-fi! FUN!!!

Easter!!!

Who says you can get to old for Easter? Although this was the first year of no Easter baskets the kids still humored their Mother and decorated some eggs for me. It is amazing to see how unique each one was. Cal and Josh both came to church this morning and were able to be there for the branch picture. We took a picture of everyone after sacrament for the first picture in the new building. Matt got everyone organized and took the picture. Add another one to history. After church Cal and Caris went to her Grandma's house and the rest of us ate lunch. The only mishap was when we took out the rolls the glass pan holding them shattered. Luckily I had made two pans. The kids and I played Scattegories after dinner and YES I was the winner!!! My writing skills are still in tact! After naps, Cal and Caris came back over and we had dessert. I am so thankful for my family both near and far. Happy Easter Family!
